2020 Sea Serpent Parade

On Saturday, 9/19/20, amid a world-wide pandemic that has postponed a myriad of cultural events around the world, including our summer 2020 Puppet Festival and Shake on the Lake’s Ninth Summer Touring Season, Shake on the Lake (SOTL) and the New York State Puppet Festival (NYSPF) did what they do best—they adapt, they pivot, and they make accessible art for the community.

Shake on the Lake & NYSPF, along with volunteers and 50 members of the community, created the Socially Distant Sea Serpent Puppet Parade around Silver Lake, the first Silver Lake Sea Serpent Puppet (that we are aware of) in 165 years in Perry, NY!
